Car Care Guide Still Available to Order The Car Care Council is offering its publication, Car Care Guide, as a first-of-its-kind reference guide for motorists. Focus-group research revealed that shop owners, counterpersons and technicians would find the guide valuable when discussing recommended maintenance and repair to their customers. Consumers interviewed agreed that they would trust information from a credible third party like the Car Care Council.
As described by the Council, this 56-page consumer-friendly manual is similar to an owner’s manual, yet more generic. The sections on "Typical Maintenance and Repair" and "Vehicle Systems and Parts" are a wealth of information with condensed, illustrated explanations on more than 50 items from brake service to the cooling system. Other sections include the popular "Car Care Checklist" and "Maintenance Log." It is small enough to fit in the glove compartment, yet large enough to be a valuable resource when teaching consumer classes.
